Iredell Health System’s Healthcare Technology Management team has
been named a Platinum Plus Regional Account of the Year by Crothall Healthcare,
a leading specialized support services provider to the healthcare industry.
The Iredell team is one of only 16 teams in the nation to earn the honor,
and is the only account on the entire east coast to win the award. Crothall
has 1300 accounts nationwide.
Also known as Biomedical Engineering (or Biomed), the Iredell team plays
a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the Health System. Biomed
technicians help to acquire, install, and maintain cutting-edge healthcare
technology, train medical staff in the use of the technology, and play
a key role in investigating device-related problems. Any device that touches
a patient anywhere in the entire Health System is first inspected by a
The Regional Account of the Year recognition is part of Crothall’s
Be-A-Star program, where accounts must complete a series of requirements
associated with the company’s key operational and cultural initiatives.
Components involve all service team members at the account and include
cultural challenges such as implementing a regular recognition program,
exploring workplace inclusion, and partnering to host a community service
activity. To qualify for the award, the Iredell team collected food for
the foodbank at Christian Ministries, created a quarterly team member
recognition program, and worked to continue to achieve operational excellence
through ongoing projects and reviews.
“We’ve worked hard, and we’re very proud to be honored
with this award,” said Sterling Brown, Director of Biomed for Iredell
Health System. Brown also noted that Crothall has only been contracted
with Iredell for about two years, and to receive the award in that amount
of time is rare. “It’s huge to get it after just two years.
This crew is top-notch.”
Lisa Fry, Regional Director of Operations for Crothall who oversees the
team at Iredell, agreed.
“The team at Iredell does an amazing job making sure we run an exceptional
program, but they are also very inclusive and support each other, the
client, and our local community by doing things as a team,” she
said. “This is a big honor.”
Fry also noted that she consistently receives positive feedback from others
in the industry about the great work of the Iredell team.
“We really appreciate everything they do,” she said. “They
make it look easy. They are a great group of employees, and the simple
things they do make a big difference.”
“It’s a great honor to have such a great team at Iredell,”
said Larry Pizzorni, Assistant Vice President of Ancillary and Support
Services for Iredell Health System. “They have really exceeded our
“Be-A-Star is a great way to recognize our account teams for delivering
exceptional patient care and hospitality, while achieving positive results
and providing better outcomes,” said Bobby Kutteh, CEO of Crothall
Healthcare. “As a Regional Account of the Year, the Iredell team
has demonstrated that they go above and beyond to serve our clients and
their patients as well as caregivers and guests.”
Although the group is contracted by Crothall Healthcare and the individuals
on the team are technically employees of Crothall, Chief Operating Officer
John Green noted that both he and most others at Iredell don’t see
it that way.
“They care about our patients, embrace our mission, vision and values,
and exemplify what Iredell is all about,” Green said. “They
are part of our team. We’re very proud to have them as part of our
Iredell family. Congratulations to this team for a job well done. ”
