Our Administrative Team

Ed Rush | President and CEO

Ed Rush Ed became Iredell Health System's President and CEO in October 2004 after 19 years at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC. At Frye Regional, Ed served three years as the facility's Chief Financial Officer, followed by 16 years as the Chief Operating Officer. He leads Iredell Health System's administrative team with over 40 years of healthcare experience.

Ed earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri at Rolla, followed by a Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Proactive in the issues that affect healthcare decisions, Ed serves on the North Carolina Hospital Association's (NCHA) Policy & Development Committee as well as the NCHA's Board of Directors. He serves locally on the Mooresville South Iredell Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

John Green | Vice President, Professional Services and Facility Planning

John Green John joined Iredell Health System's administrative team in 2000 and has managed several of Iredell Health System's expansion and renovation projects including an angiography suite, PET Scan and 64-slice CT Scan areas, two additional operating suites, a fifth floor addition to the Nunnery Tower and the interior upgrades of numerous patient care areas.

John is responsible for a combination of clinical and support areas including:

John earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, followed by a MBA in Management from the University of Akron, in Akron, OH.

John currently serves as a member of the Diakonos Inc. (Fifth Street Ministries) Board, Chariman of the Board for the Statesville Chamber of Commerce, member of the Board for the Statesville Regional Development Corporation, member of the Finance Committee of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Statesville and the Rotary Club of Greater Statesville.

He has obtained and maintained Fellow credentialing with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the nation's forefront professional society for healthcare leaders.

John currently resides in Statesville, NC with his wife and two children.

John Snow | Vice President Ancillary and Support Services

John Snow John joined Iredell Health System's administrative team in 2007 after serving four years as the Chief Executive Officer of Blue Ridge Community Health Services. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin, GA and Sylvan Grove Hospital in Jackson, GA.

In total, John's career includes over 25 years of progressive hospital and healthcare management experience.

John is responsible for a combination of clinical and support areas including:

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1990 from the University of North Carolina in Asheville, followed by a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Dallas in Irving, TX.

John serves as a board member for the Rotary Club of Statesville - Fourth Creek; a committee member for the Town of Troutman, Parks and Recreation; and a committee member for the Iredell County Healthy Carolinians.

John currently resides in Troutman, NC with his wife and two children.

Becky Quate | Vice President of Nursing and Patient Services

Becky Quate Becky joined the IHS team in November 2014 as our Vice President of Nursing and Patient Services.

She has over 20 years of hospital experience. She most recently served as Director of Nursing and Patient Care Services for Cone Health at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC. She began her career as a staff nurse in the Neuro/Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro and has held many leadership positions in between.

She received her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently pursuing her doctoral nursing practice degree in executive leadership and anticipates graduating in 2015.

Becky is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, a member of the North Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders, and Chi Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau - Nursing Honor Society. She was also a “Great 100 Nurse Recipient,” and president of the Siler City Rotary Club.

Skip Smith | Chief Financial Officer

Skip Smith Prior to joining Iredell Health System, Gary (Skip) Smith served as the Chief Financial Officer of Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville, Indiana. Prior to that, he worked for Health Management Associates in Chester, South Carolina and in Mooresville.

Skip received his Bachelor of Science degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in business administration with dual majors in accounting and finance.

Skip and his family live in Troutman.
