Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac Rehabilitation is a medically supervised, comprehensive program for persons with heart disease. The Cardiopulmonary Rehab team works closely with program participants and their personal physicians to promote optimal recovery. Our program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

Why Cardiac Rehab?

Cardiac rehab is a multi-disciplinary program of medical care designed to restore those afflicted with heart disease to a full and productive life. The medical staff ensures detection of problems and potential complications that may arise after hospitalization.

  • Reduce the potential of another cardiovascular event through risk factor modification

  • Improve the functional capacity of the heart and lungs through an individualized exercise program

  • Provide specific guidelines for physical activity

  • Educate the patient and family about diagnosis, interventions, medications and risk factors

  • Recognize heart disease signs and symptoms, and know when to seek medical treatment

  • Improve lipid levels and manage weight through dietary instruction and exercise participation

  • Decrease anxiety, fear and depression through individualized consultation and group support

  • Assistance in returning to the work environment

  • Regular progress reports provided to personal physician including vital signs, symptoms and exercise responses

A Team Approach

In cardiac rehab, we treat not just the heart, but the whole person whose disease has affected all aspects of life. Our team of specialists will work with you to prescribe rehab therapy to suit your individual needs. You will be monitored by the following persons:

  • Physicians
  • Registered Nurses
  • Exercise Specialists/Physiologists
  • Dietitians
  • Licensed Counselor
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

Class Schedule

You will be attending exercise class 3 days a week for 12 weeks or 36 sessions.
Once you choose a class, those class days and times are reserved for you.

7:00 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:45 AM 11:00 AM, and 4:00 PM

Insurance Coverage

Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurance carriers provide reimbursement. For those who qualify, Vocational Rehabilitation assistance is available. New participant orientation is offered with no obligation to enroll. For more information: Call the Cardiac Rehab team at 704-878-4558.
