Iredell Health System announced today that they are partnering with the
Family Care Center in Taylorsville.
“We chose to partner with Iredell Health System and become a part
of the Iredell Physician Network because we share the same vision of providing
quality health care for the Taylorsville community,” said Dr. Joel
R. Inman of Family Care Center. “We will be delivering the same
personal, quality care that we always have.”
“I have known these physicians for the last 20 years, so I know the
caliber of the care they give their patients,” said Ed Rush, CEO
of Iredell Health System. “Our partnership will allow us to offer
more to the Taylorsville community.”

The Family Care Center sees patients of all ages. They also conveniently
offer their patients on-site radiology, laboratory, bone density, EKG,
holter monitoring, physical therapy and more.
The office includes Jeffrey Katz, PA-C, DFAAPA, who joined Family Care
Center in 1995. He has been in practice since 1979. He is a graduate of
Queens College of the City University of New York. He earned his physician
assistant degree through the physician assistants program of the Bowman-Gray
School of Medicine of Wake Forest University. He is a Distinguished Fellow
of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) where he currently
serves as President on the Board of Directors and also serves as the Medical
Director for Carolina AccessCare for Alexander County.
Joel Inman, MD is a native of Alexander County and joined Family Care Center
in 1997. Prior to that, he served in the Navy. He is a graduate of Davidson
College in Davidson, NC and East Carolina University School of Medicine
for his medical degree. He currently serves as the Medical Director for
the Alexander County EMS.
Jill DeVries, MD has been with Family Care Center since 2005 and practicing
medicine since 1999. She is a graduate of Marquette University and the
Medical College of Wisconsin. She has particular interest in women's
health and pediatrics.
Mark DeVries, MD has been in practice since 1997 and joined Family Care
Center with his wife in 2005. He graduated from Appalachian State University
and East Carolina University School of Medicine.
Cody Wingler, MD began practicing in 2013 after finishing his residency
and medical degree in Family Medicine from East Carolina University in
Greenville, NC. He earned his undergraduate degree at Western Carolina
University. He currently serves on the board of the North Carolina Academy
of Family Physicians as the New Physician Board Member and also serves
locally on the Alexander County Board of Health.
Hannah Hefner, MPAS, PA-C is the newest member of the team. She earned
her Bachelor’s degree from Montreat College and her Master’s
in physician assistant studies from Wingate University both located in
NC. She was the 2014 Vice President to the Wingate University PA Student
Society. Her educational experiences included a broad spectrum of both
inpatient and outpatient medicine.
