Iredell Health System, in partnership with Northwest Area Health Education
Center, will hold its 3rd Annual Cardiovascular Forum on Thursday, March
10 at the Statesville Civic Center.
The forum is designed to provide cutting-edge information to increase
the health care professional’s knowledge of current cardiovascular
issues confronting providers caring for cardiac patients across the continuum
of care. It is intended for nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists,
ancillary staff, registered cardiovascular invasive specialists (RCIS),
emergency medical technicians and registered radiological technicians (RTR).
Over 71 million American adults have been diagnosed with cardiovascular
disease. Heart disease is the second-leading cause of death for men and
women in North Carolina. In addition to behavioral risk factors, obesity,
high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes are other known risk
factors for heart disease.
The forum is an all-day event, beginning at 8:15 and concluding at 4:30
pm. It includes a continental breakfast and lunch. For more information
