Iredell Health System held its 5th annual Cardiovascular Forum at the Statesville Civic Center on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The knowledge-based conference is an annual event put on through a partnership with Iredell Health System and the Northwest Area Health Education Center. More than 150 individuals from Iredell and surrounding counties attended the conference to learn more about information related to diagnostic criteria, new treatment modalities, anticoagulation therapies, and other new practices to provide safe and competent care to cardiovascular patients. Heart disease is one of the top three leading causes of death in North Carolina, including Iredell County.
