Cody Wingler, MD FAAFP named Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians

Cody Wingler, MD, FAAFP of Family Care Center of Taylorsville has been named a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). According to the AAFP, the Degree of Fellow is awarded to members who have distinguished themselves in their field, advanced their professional development through medical education and research, and who have a record of service to their community.
Wingler earned his medical degree at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He returned to his native Alexander County after completing his residency at ECU Family Medicine and joined the staff of Family Care Center of Taylorsville in 2013. He previously served as chairman of the Alexander County Board of Health and also served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians. Wingler is also an active member of his church where he serves as a deacon and works with the youth council.
"I chose to come back to Alexander County to practice family medicine because my upbringing here set me up the best to succeed," said Wingler. "I love taking care of entire families, from babies to 100 year olds. Building a relationship with families is the most satisfying part of my job."
