Iredell Health Donates Hand Sanitizer, Tissues to Local Schools

Monday, February 25, 2019

Iredell Health System is doing its part to stop the spread of flu in local schools by recently donating hand sanitizer and boxes of tissues to Statesville and West middle schools.

“Outbreaks of flu are common among school-aged children,” said Pam Gill, Director of Infection Prevention for Iredell Health System. “It’s important to educate students on the importance of respiratory hygiene to prevent the spread of flu and other illnesses. Having tissues and hand sanitizer readily available is one way to do that.”

Gill helped to orchestrate the donation to the schools.

“The Iredell-Statesville Schools are so grateful for the support and partnership of Iredell Health System,” said Boen Nutting, Director of Communications and Development for Iredell-Statesville Schools. “Both of our organizations are interested in keeping kids in Iredell County healthy, happy and safe. The generous donation of hand sanitizer and tissues to our schools contributes to the wellbeing of our students and our staff. We are most appreciative.”
