Iredell Physician Network Director of Operations Achieves Board Certification

Carla Johnson, CMPE, Director of Operations for the Iredell Physician Network, has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive
(CMPE). She is certified by the American College of Medical Practice Executives, a part of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).
The designation of CMPE demonstrates that Johnson has achieved board certification in medical practice management. She passed rigorous ACMPE examinations which assess skills in business operations, financial management, human resource management, information management, organizational governance, patient care systems, quality management and risk management. The ACMPE also requires a minimum of 50 hours of continuing education credit.
Johnson became Director of Operations for the Iredell Physician Network in 2009 and is currently leading the practices toward Patient Centered Medical Home Accreditation as Transformation Manager. The Iredell Physician Network includes 18 practices in Iredell, Alexander, Catawba and Davie counties. Specialties offered include family medicine, primary care for women, internal medicine, neurospine, orthopaedics, cardiology and hematology and oncology.
Johnson has nearly three decades of experience working in healthcare as an administrator of medical practices and as a provider network director. She has also worked in sales and marketing for a Fortune 500 company. Johnson currently holds a seat on the King's College Program Advisory Committee. Recently, Johnson had an active role in interviewing with the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Programs/Medical Assisting Education Review Board
(CAAHEP/MAERB), supporting Kings College in a critical step in the accreditation of their program.
