Iredell Health System (IHS) is making its lower level entrance more convenient, comfortable and patient-friendly with renovations scheduled to begin this week. The upgrades will include a new reception area, an expanded hallway and other improvements.

To ensure the safety of guests and staff during construction, the main entrance to the lower level at Iredell Memorial Hospital will temporarily close on Wednesday, April 4. Signs will direct visitors to use a modified emergency room entrance during this time. Construction is scheduled to be complete by the end of June.

While the renovations are underway, Iredell Health System asks that only emergency room patients, direct admits and radiology patients enter the hospital through the modified emergency department entrance. Other hospital visitors should go directly to the main hospital entrance on Brookdale Drive during the hours of 6 am and 11 pm. Anyone coming to the hospital outside of those hours should use the modified emergency room entrance. For laboratory testing, visitors will use the lab in the Outpatient Services Building, located at 739 Hartness Road.

Signs will direct visitors to the appropriate entrance and staff will be available onsite to answer questions. This is the latest in a number of recent upgrades at Iredell Memorial, including the opening of the Iredell Heart & Vascular Center, a renovated robotic surgical suite and renovations to the radiology department. IHS appreciates the community’s patience as we continue to improve and expand our facilities in order to provide excellent care.
