Biography

Prior to joining Iredell Physician Network, Dr. Martin was an assistant professor of cardiovascular medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Ahuja Medical Center. He was also the director of the Ahuja Medical Center Echocardiography Unit.

He is a firm believer in open communication with his patients.

“My approach to medical care is to develop relationships with my patients and to educate them about what conditions they may have and the most up-to-date treatment options available to them,” he said. “Communication is essential. My goals for patients are to have them as educated about their condition as possible and to empower them to make lifestyle changes and seek the best medical treatment possible.”

Martin has conducted and published studies on the interactions of propofol in perioperative medicine, heart imaging tests, and heart conditions such as peripartum cardiomyopathy.

He participates in medical camps for middle school students teaching general cardiovascular education and conducting gross dissection for anatomy. He has also been involved in the Go Red for Women Movement to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease in women.

Martin has been married for 12 years and has daughters ages 9 and 2. They enjoy the outdoors, fishing, golf, and hiking.
