<p><strong>Who can participate?<br /></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Prehab —</strong> Before cancer treatment* begins, to set goals and plan for a successful recovery.</li>
<li><strong>Rehab —</strong> During cancer treatment,* to improve treatment effectiveness and coping with side effects <br />or treatment. May prevent further disease and promote health in the years after treatment.</li>
<li><strong>Survivorship —</strong> After cancer treatment and moving forward.<br /><br /><em>*Cancer treatment often includes surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, or a combination of these.</em></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Cancer rehabilitation includes:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Individualized treatment plans that focus on reducing fatigue related to illness and treatment.</li>
<li>Assistance in managing anxiety and depression.</li>
<li>The support of a multidisciplinary team who understand the emotional and psychological impacts of fighting cancer.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The goal:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Increased quality of life.</li>
<li>Increased physical functioning.</li>
</ul>
<p>Exercise is positively associated with improved survival and quality of life, the reduction of some cancer-associated symptoms, and improved cardiovascular health in patients with cancer.</p>
<p>Attendance goal is twice each week for 12 weeks.</p>
